CLIENT
A "game client" is used to connect to the server.
You can get it at: http://www.lineage2.com/pds/pds_client.html
Download and install it.
Open the game client directly from shortcut in your desktop or from LineageII.exe and let it Update.
A good idea is to hit "Checking Files" button to ensure a Full Update.
While it is updating, now is a good time to edit your hosts file
Note: If you have the PTS client (Public Test Server Client) you need to convert your client from PTS Client to Live Client using this: ftp://l2clientdownload.lineage2.com/liveconversion/PTStoLiveconversion.zip
IMPORTANT!
When a New L2 Chronicle is released, is time to use L2.bin instead of LineageII.exe (this is located in "Lineage II\system\" directory) to run the game.
This is only recomended when a New L2 Chronicle is released, because L2J not always starts to emulate game client in the same day of the release, so for this reason you can't update the game at this moment, then you should run the game directly from L2.bin until L2J is updated to support the new game client.
OFFLINE PLAY
On some cases a internet conection may be unavailable.
Unfortunatelly client require an active internet connection to run.
That mean you will not be able to run client offline cause his GameGuard component cannot aquire needed info.
What to do in this case?
You have to set up your own GameGuard server.
This information is here as a guide only.
L2J will not offer support for the GameGuard server
That means do not ask for help on the forums or on IRC.
Proceed to GameGuard setup page.
DO NOT alter the L2.ini or any other file of the Lineage2 client !!
