GameGuard
This information is here as a guide only.
L2J will not offer support for the GameGuard server.
That means do not ask for help on the forums or on IRC.
GameGuard is not needed to run the L2J server. All GameGuard problems are client errors.
A GameGuard server is only needed if you can not have an internet connection to the real GG server.
This will help you set up a GameGuard server.
A GameGuard server is legal as long as you obtain the files directly from the source.
You will need a Web server to make this functional. EasyPHP is suggested.
- 1. Install EasyPHP (not needed if you use MySQL and Apache)
- 2. Start it
- 3. Minimize it to tray
- 4. Right click on the black e in your taskbar (that's the very right bottom of your screen, next to the clock)
- 5. Select configuration and then EasyPH
- 6. Check the box to run MysSQL and Apache as services
- 7. Right click on the black e in your taskbar
- 8. select explorer
NOTE: THE FOLLOWING FOLDER NAMES ARE CASE SENSITIVE
nProtect
GameGuard
RealServer
- 9. Now create a folder called nProtect
- 10. Go into nProtect folder
- 11. Create a folder called GameGuard
- 12. Go into GameGuard folder
- 13. Create a folder called RealServer
- 14. Go into RealServer folder
- 15. Copy and paste the files from below into the RealServer folder!
NOTE: make sure you save the .npz files without the .zip extension that IE tries to add.

Then add this to your hosts file:
192.168.0.1 nProtect.lineage2.com 192.168.0.1 update.nProtect.com 192.168.0.1 update.nProtect.net
For offline gaming that would be 127.0.0.1
